Deputy Minister Sallahu: ECAP legitimized the misuse of postal votes, orchestrated by LDK

Deputy Minister of Justice, Blerim Sallahu, has reacted after the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) rejected the appeal of the Vetëvendosje Movement for the cancellation of 18 LDK votes by mail.

Sallahu said that the ECAP has legitimized and legalized the misuse of postal votes, orchestrated by the LDK.

"The ECAP has failed to deal with the essence of our complaint, thus avoiding legal responsibility in handling the facts and evidence presented by the VETËVENDOSJE Movement!", Sallahu wrote in a Facebook post, Telegrafi reports.

According to him, ECAP has not conducted administrative investigations of any ballot boxes, even though hundreds of samples of evidence have been presented that industrial manipulation of postal votes has occurred.

"The ECAP decided to legitimize and legalize the abuses of postal votes, orchestrated by the LDK and its leadership. We hope that the Supreme Court will not fall prey to the irresponsibility, unprofessionalism and political influence that the ECAP has had from political and parapolitical actors," he wrote.

The Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) has dismissed as unfounded the complaints of the political entities of the Vetevendosje Movement, the Democratic Party of Kosovo and PDAK-LPB.

The ECAP decision states that it has dismissed as unfounded the appeal of the Vetëvendosje Movement against the final election results, with which it requested the annulment of the results of the postal votes for the Democratic League of Kosovo and its candidates, precisely 18 votes.

The ECAP has found that there is insufficient evidence to support LVV's claims and has therefore rejected the complaint.

“REJECTED as unfounded is the complaint A.nr.641/2025 dated 17.03.2025 of the political entity Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV) with headquarters in Prishtina, filed against the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) with headquarters in Prishtina, No.01/727-2025, dated 15 March 2025, on the announcement of the final results of the General Elections for the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo dated 09.02.2025, by which it requested that the results of the postal voting for the political entity Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) and its candidates, a total of 18,933 votes, be annulled and that these votes be removed from the final election results, to order the CEC to repeat the postal voting in its entirety and to remove the candidates from the list of LDK candidates: mentioned by name and surname in the justification of this complaint, due to the manipulation of votes received by mail and not to allow the LDK political entity to replace the removed candidates," the ECAP decision states.

ECAP announces that the complaint filed by the LVV against the CEC's decision to announce the final results of the elections for the Assembly of Kosovo regarding the PDK is rejected as unfounded.

The Democratic League of Kosovo has welcomed the ECAP decision, which confirms that the Vetëvendosje Movement's efforts to manipulate and delegitimize the electoral process were unfounded and reveal their unwillingness to accept the will of our diaspora.

According to this party, this act proves that their claims were simply an attempt to defend the single party organization of the manipulation of the diaspora vote documented on video. /Telegraph/
