Taurus: Capital investments are the engine of development, 2026 a decisive year

The new government of Kosovo, according to policy analyst Agron Demi, should use 2026 to establish clear development foundations and avoid short-term policies that do not produce sustainable results.
in "Confrontation Podcast", with Telegrafi editor-in-chief Muhamet Hajrullahu, Demi emphasized that the focus of the new institutions should be the functionalization of the state and orientation towards reforms that directly affect the economy and society.

According to him, the first priority should be institutional stability and timely approval of the budget.
"Approval of the budget is the first and most important point, because without it, payments and the normal functioning of the state are blocked," said Demi, underlining that political delays create direct economic costs.
In terms of economic development, Demi assessed that the new Government should return attention to capital investments and development projects.
"Capital investments have been the engine of economic development, job creation and long-term growth for years," he said, adding that without concrete infrastructure projects it is difficult to talk about real development.
Another necessary focus, according to Demi, is the digitalization of public administration and the modernization of state services.
"Digitalization should impact the way the state functions - from education and healthcare, to capital projects and the relationship between citizens and institutions," he said, according to the Telegraph.

Demi also emphasized that education and innovation should be treated as pillars of long-term development. According to him, technological changes and the development of artificial intelligence are transforming the global labor market, so Kosovo must prepare its human capital for these challenges.
"We do not have the luxury of continuing with old policies in a world that is changing so rapidly," he said.
In conclusion, Demi said that the success of the new Government will be measured by the ability to move from daily management towards a development vision.
"These are the years when the foundations for the coming decades must be laid, because today's decisions will determine Kosovo's development in the future," he concluded.. /Telegraph/.
