The Special Court has clarified that the rights of the accused are respected in accordance with the Constitution of Kosovo and the European Convention on Human Rights.

In a notice published on its official website on "X", the Special Chamber emphasizes that any accused who is not satisfied with a decision has the opportunity to appeal to a special panel of judges, and as a last resort, to the Specialized Chamber of the Constitutional Court.

"If an accused believes that a decision is not in accordance with the law or violates his rights, he may appeal the decision to a special panel of judges and, as a last resort, to the Specialized Chamber of the Constitutional Court," the announcement states.

The court adds that the judges' decision-making is always based on the European Convention on Human Rights and previous decisions of the European Court of Human Rights.

To date, the Specialized Chamber of the Constitutional Court has implemented at least 160 previous cases judged by the European Court, to ensure that its decisions are in line with international human rights standards.
