Death of Italian businessman during intervention at clinic in Tirana, Prosecution launches investigation

The Tirana Prosecutor's Office has registered proceedings for the death of Italian businessman Massimo Ferro.

The case is being investigated by prosecutor Florian Boriçi, who has seized medical records and carried out other investigative actions, while awaiting an autopsy by the Albanian Institute of Forensic Medicine.

The event occurred on December 22, 2025 at the QSUT, where the 55-year-old died after stomach surgery for weight loss, at the private clinic "Trita Hospital" in Tirana, euronews.al reports.

In parallel, investigations are also underway in Italy, while the businessman's family has legal representatives to discover the cause of death.

They claim that the businessman was not given preliminary tests and checks before being put into the operating room, as they insist on justice.
