DDR3 memory is back - DDR4 RAM is too expensive

DDR3 RAM, which was considered obsolete, is experiencing a sudden comeback in the market, mainly due to the continuous increase in prices of more modern memories.
According to reports from TechSpot, the prices of DDR5 and now DDR4 are rising, forcing users to return to older and cheaper solutions.
Particular interest has been noted in the Asian market, where modified Intel X99 motherboards are appearing that support DDR3 memory, even though they were originally designed for DDR4.
These boards allow the use of ECC DDR3 modules with capacities up to 256 GB, which makes them attractive to users who need a lot of RAM at a lower cost.
According to available data, demand for DDR3 components has increased by 100 to 200 percent over the past year.
The main reasons are the high prices of the newer standards and the fact that manufacturers are reducing the production of DDR4 modules, focusing on DDR5, which is more profitable and is used in modern computers and data centers.
Even DDR4 itself, which was previously considered a "reasonable choice" between old and new technologies, is facing price increases.
This makes it more difficult for users to decide on a system upgrade, as the difference in performance between DDR4 and DDR5 often does not justify the high additional cost. /Telegraph/
