Kosovo Customs has continued intensive controls against smuggling of goods, with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical sector.

Recently, anti-smuggling units conducted an operation in Ferizaj, where during inspections at a private clinic and a pharmacy, suspected smuggled drugs worth over 30 thousand euros were seized.

"During an anti-smuggling operation, anti-smuggling units have confiscated a quantity of suspected smuggled drugs and discovered a secret space (bunker) adapted for their concealment," Kosovo Customs announced.

During the search of the polyclinic premises, as well as in a camouflaged space in the basement, which was used for performing X-rays, a significant amount of drugs without RKS labels was found and seized.

After identification and verification by the competent agencies, it was found that 1,099 packages of unlabeled medicines, registered according to the official specification, with a total estimated value of over 30,000 euros, were confiscated.

The confiscated drugs include pharmaceutical products such as Nexium, Jardiance, Xarelto, Janumet, Primolut, Microgynon, Cyclo-Progynova, Sintrom, Euthyrox/Eutirox, No-Spa, Ponstan, Diane, as well as other drugs, according to the official seizure list.

The case is in further legal proceedings, while Kosovo Customs has emphasized that it remains committed to preventing and combating the illegal circulation of medicines, as well as protecting public health, in coordination with relevant institutions. /Telegrafi/
