Criminalistics expert warns: Spring, armed robbery season in Kosovo

Criminology professor Mensut Ademi has raised concerns about the increase in cases of armed robberies in Kosovo, especially after visa liberalization.

He warns that Kosovo is becoming a target of organized crime groups, endangering public safety and state institutions.

According to Ademi, the robberies are part of a criminal pattern that repeats itself in the spring months, when the activity of criminal groups increases.

He emphasizes that the police and security institutions must be more vigilant, as Kosovo has been identified as a market with a large circulation of dirty money, which attracts criminal elements from the region and beyond.

"We are entering a season of armed robberies and thefts. Data shows that in the last ten years, the months of April and May are among the most dangerous for this type of crime," Ademi said on TV Dukagjini.

He has called for more in-depth investigations and closer cooperation between security institutions to prevent attacks on businesses and individuals.

He also warned that if urgent measures are not taken, the situation could worsen, directly affecting the safety of citizens.

The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has announced that a person has been arrested for the robbery that took place in the courtyard of a shopping center in Pristina. According to the statement, he is suspected of the criminal offenses of "robbery" and "unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons."

The prosecution has announced that police investigators are continuing to pursue the fugitives.

"At the moment, no detailed information regarding this case can be provided, but the State Prosecutor is committed to fully clarifying the matter in coordination and cooperation with law enforcement agencies," the announcement states.

During the day, it was reported that the second patient injured by gunfire in the robbery case in "Veternik" was admitted to UCCK. /Telegraph/
