The Kosovo Correctional Service and the Prison Health Department have announced that tonight at around 22:00 PM, at the High Security Prison, a prisoner with the initials EG was found without signs of life in his room.
According to the official announcement, correctional staff, the institution's medical team, and the city's emergency services responded immediately, but despite their efforts, the prisoner was unable to be revived.
The deceased was serving a sentence for two counts of rape. He was admitted to the institution on August 15, 2024, and his release was scheduled for 2048.
The Kosovo Police and the competent prosecutor have been notified of the case, while the KCS and the DSHB have initiated investigative and administrative procedures to fully clarify the circumstances.
