Konjufca on the sentencing of Nezir Mehmetaj: I strongly condemn this injustice, the international community should increase the pressure on Serbia

The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, said that today Serbia has sentenced citizen Nezir Mehmetaj to six years in prison.

Konjufca, while strongly condemning this injustice, has asked the international community to increase the pressure on Serbia, Telegrafi reports.

"Today, after an arrest in 2020, after an invented and arbitrary accusation and process against our citizen Nezir Mehmetaj, the court in Serbia has sentenced him to 6 years in prison. The old mentality of Serbia, which committed genocide in Kosovo, cannot produce anything new except hiding crimes on the one hand and inventing them on the other," he said.

Further, he added "I strongly condemn this injustice and ask the international community to increase the pressure on Serbia, with a clear voice against this injustice and in support of human rights".
