Conflicts among minors in Albania, 10 victims in 5 years

Over 1600 injured and perpetrators, specialists: Awareness is lagging.
"Conflicts among minors, due to social networks, have been increasing year by year. Data provided by TV Klan shows that in the last 5 years there has been an increase in the number of people who have been involved in conflicts with each other and consequently, injured minors," reports TV Klan.
Data from the State Police show that this year alone we have 2 victims, 346 minors injured and 420 perpetrators involved in conflict with the law for threats, serious injury, intentional minor injury and beatings with each other.
In total, in the last 5 years, 10 minors have lost their lives from conflicts with each other, while 1600 others have suffered minor injuries, and approximately 1550 have been registered as perpetrators.
According to lawyers, the legal tolerance of law enforcement agencies should be in line with the degree of culpability of minors, to prevent such events from occurring again.
"The conflicts that are treated more are those in urban areas, while in rural areas there is a masking of the problem, of its settlement within communities without filing papers. This legal tolerance must be in accordance with the degree of guilt, and with the way the minor behaves in front of the judge or prosecutor. There must be a strategy regarding compensation for victims, since this compensation is zero. The measure of raising awareness among minors not to commit crimes is probably not the right one," says lawyer Ylli Kameri.
For sociologists, in addition to social networks and their patterns, minors involved in violent events are a reflection of the defects that society has.
"The defects that society has, the clashes that society has, the direct inattention to young people brings increased conflict and tension. The reasons are: the great pressure that young people have, high pressure and social isolation. Parents find it almost impossible today to control young people; they are on social networks all the time and it is difficult to know what groups and activities they are involved in. Even on social networks you are rewarded economically if you commit such actions," says sociologist Eris Dhamo.
Within just one month, two incidents of violence between minors have been recorded in Albania, one of which resulted in loss of life.TV Klan
