US General Wesley Clark has completed his testimony at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, where he stated that the Kosovo Liberation Army was not a terrorist organization, but a group of people who rejected Serbian oppression in the 90s.

Clark emphasized that the KLA fought against an "unjust and unlawful" regime, while adding that former President Hashim Thaçi cannot be held responsible for acts of individual violence after the war, writes "Oath for Justice".

"People have to fight for their rights. The KLA did exactly that. They resisted Serbian oppression and they were not terrorists," Clark said.

He added that, in his assessment, Thaçi did not have command or control over the KLA and that the accusations against him are not substantial.

During his testimony, Clark said that Ramush Haradinaj was a very powerful and independent commander, which led him to conclude that the KLA did not have a classic chain of command.

"These were strong personalities, making decisions on which the lives of their families depended. There was no clear command structure," he said, adding that NATO had had difficulties in cooperation precisely for this reason.

Clark called the organ trafficking allegations "absurd" and "Russian disinformation."

"There was no logic whatsoever that during the NATO bombings anyone would be involved in organ harvesting. This was just propaganda," he said, explaining that the source of these claims were Russian individuals who had provided him with material in 1998.

Prosecutor Mat Halling challenged Clark, saying he “does not know enough” about the KLA’s activities to assess the charges against Thaçi.

Clark objected, saying that the KLA operated in a decentralized manner and that Thaçi had no hierarchical control.

"Yes, I believe the allegations are not substantial," he stated. /Telegraph/
