Chelsea 'ready to sell 11 players this summer' to fund top star move

Chelsea could sell 11 players this summer to fund the transfer of a 'super striker'.

The London club are looking ahead to the summer transfer window, having already agreed a stunning deal with Sporting Lisbon for Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo.

The Blues also appear set to sign Jadon Sancho on a permanent deal from Man United, but a loophole in the deal could see the club pay a 'significant fine' to get out of their obligation to buy him this summer.

A big-name striker is on Chelsea's transfer wishlist, according to The Daily Mail who claim the club will have to sell to meet Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) restrictions.

Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres and Napoli's Victor Osimhen, who is on loan at Galatasaray, are among the names thought to be on their radar.

Sporting have 'lowered' their asking price for Gyokeres, while Osimhen is believed to be around 70 million euros.

But to secure a 'super striker', Chelsea will have to reduce the number of players in the squad in accordance with PSR rules.

They have no shortage of options for potential sale, with Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Kepa Arrizabalaga, David Datro Fofana, Axel Disasi, Joao Felix, Renato Veiga, Armando Broja, Trevoh Chalobah, Alfie Gilchrist and Carney Chukwuemeka all reported by Mail Sport to be up for sale.

These players are all on loan, apart from Chalobah, who was recalled from his loan spell at Crystal Palace last January. Others such as Christopher Nkunku and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who has barely featured in the Premier League, could also leave if opportunities arise for them in the summer. /Telegraph/
