Charli XCX has spoken openly about her new film "The Moment," admitting that in many ways she is very close to the dramatic version of herself she portrays on screen.

The "Brat" hit singer plays an exaggerated version of herself in this mockumentary, where her character faces dilemmas between art and commercialization.

Speaking after the premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, she said she has been "methodical since the day she was born", adding that she often reacted the same way as her character in the film, writes Dailymail.

"I've trained to play this role my whole life in different ways... and I've definitely reacted in similar ways to how I react in the film," she said.

Charli also recounted real-life moments that make her feel connected to the role: "Did I ever have a breakdown in the back of a Viano while smoking a million cigarettes? Yes. So I definitely had a lot to learn."

The film was first shown at the Festival Sundance and then in Berlin, while it is expected to be published in Europe next month.

The singer praised the festival for supporting films with social and political messages, saying that these are projects she wants to support.

She also revealed that “The Moment” marks the end of the “Brat” era in her career. “For me, it’s over. And you can’t fear the end when it’s over,” Charli said, emphasizing that the film represents a new chapter in her artistic journey. /Telegraph/
