Chaos in Sarajevo – Republika Srpska Police did not allow the State Police to arrest Dodik

Members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrived today at the Administrative Center of the Government of the Republika Srpska in East Sarajevo, where the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is currently staying.

According to the information of klix.ba, members of SIPA attempted to arrest Dodik, but this action was opposed by members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska. No force was used during the arrest attempt.

"I can confirm that SIPA members were at the Administrative Center of the Government of Republika Srpska in East Sarajevo, acting on the order of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in connection with the criminal offense - non-implementation of decisions of the Constitutional Court. They attempted to implement this order, but were prevented by the MUP," stated SIPA spokesperson Jelena Miovčić.

We recall that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina had previously issued an arrest warrant for Milorad Dodik, as well as for the Prime Minister of RS, Radovan Viskovic, and the Speaker of the National Assembly of RS, Nenad Stevandic, following a decision to sentence him to prison for failing to comply with the decisions of the High Representative.

In February, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a first-instance ruling, sentencing the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, to one year in prison for failing to implement the High Representative's decisions. In addition to the prison sentence, he was also imposed a security measure prohibiting him from exercising the office of President of the Republika Srpska for a period of six years, starting from the day the ruling entered into force.

Earlier in the day, Dodik arrived at the Administrative Center in East Sarajevo, where tonight he plans to hold a meeting with the mayor and the mayors of the municipalities that make up the City of East Sarajevo.

Prior to this meeting, Dodik stayed in Šekovići, where at 16:00 PM he participated in a meeting on the occasion of the launch of the project for the gasification of the eastern part of Republika Srpska. This meeting was held in the municipal building, as previously announced by the Cabinet of the President of the RS. /Telegraph/
