Chancellor Scholz makes a surprise visit to Ukraine, these were his words immediately after arriving in Kiev
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has arrived in Kiev on Monday morning, in what the media is evaluating as a surprise visit to Ukraine.
According to the German media, the Telegraph reports, with his visit to the Ukrainian capital, the SPD politician wants to make it clear that Germany continues to stand by the country that saw a wide aggression from Russia.
"For more than 1000 days, Ukraine has heroically defended itself against the merciless war of Russian aggression," Scholz said after his arrival.
He wanted to express his solidarity with the country with his short visit.

Germany "will remain Ukraine's strongest supporter in Europe," Scholz promised, and promised quick arms shipments.

According to him, Ukraine can rely even further on Germany.
