Carvajal faces major suspension after clash with Bukayo Saka

A tense moment occurred during the break after the first half of the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final between Real Madrid and Arsenal, which ended with Madrid's elimination. Dani Carvajal confronted Bukayo Saka near the tunnel, where he whispered in high tones, pointed his finger at him, and even grabbed him by the neck.

Carvajal, who was not part of the squad due to a serious injury suffered against Villarreal on October 5 last year, was taken to an area usually reserved for coaching staff and players eligible to play.

As a result, the Spanish right-back is facing a possible four-match suspension, under Article 15 of UEFA's disciplinary regulations.

Section 15.a.viii states that a one-match ban can be imposed for “participating in a match when ineligible”, with Xabi Alonso’s suspension in the 2014 Champions League final serving as a well-known example.

Furthermore, Carvajal could face further punishment under article 15.e, which provides for a three-match suspension for “assaulting a player or other person involved in the match.”

For UEFA to impose such a sanction, the match delegate must include the incident in the official report.

Given the circumstances, it is likely that Carvajal could face a significant penalty if the incident is officially documented. /Telegraph/
