Cardiosurgeon Raif Çavolli during the podcast "Health First", supported by United Hospital explained that recovery time after heart surgery varies from patient to patient, as it depends on several important health factors.

According to him, everything starts from the patient's general condition and the type of heart disease being treated with surgical intervention.

He said that before surgery, doctors conduct a detailed risk assessment using a scoring system.

"This depends on the pathology and the general condition of the patient before surgery. All of these must be measured and patients are placed in a type of surgical risk grading through the Euroscore," Çavolli emphasized.

He added that in cardiac surgery, almost all interventions are considered difficult and require special care during and after surgery.

However, in cases where it is a basic or routine surgery, the initial recovery in the hospital can last about 7 to 8 days, but as he said, the process of fully returning to normal does not end with discharge from the hospital.
