Eugen Cakolli from KDI, on RTV21, did not rule out the possibility of elections in April 2026.

As he assessed, the unwillingness of the leader of the LVV, Albin Kurti, to have a coalition with any party for the post of president makes the chances of elections real.

"Although I believe that a solution can be found by then, if we have elections, they will be held in the second week of April, respectively somewhere between April 1 and 20," he said.

According to him, the president must be voted in by March at the latest, or the country will automatically head towards early elections.

Furthermore, he said that the greatest pressure for votes for President Vjosa Osmani will fall on the LDK.

"Since LVV is expected to have 57 MPs, if we add 11 MPs from non-majority communities and one from the non-Serb community, it brings the number to 68 MPs, but usually parties have been careful not to leave it for one MP and, of course, the greatest burden of pressure will fall on LDK... due to the fact that an attempt is being made to find a scapegoat in the event of a failure to elect the president," he said.

Cakolli added that Kurti doesn't care if the presidential election fails, since he has three mandates.
