Fatmir Bytyqi, SDSM MP, on the "Biznis21" show on TV21 emphasized the importance of increasing the minimum wage in the country.
He said that the government must intervene with correct mechanisms to protect workers and businesses.
"Yes, the minimum wage should be increased. Businesses have also emphasized that it is seriously necessary to increase the minimum wage, in order to keep workers in the country and ensure stability for people who are essential to companies. The government must intervene through various models, which are known and applied worldwide, because only one party - business - cannot be protected. Workers must also be protected," declared Bytyqi.
He added that his vision is for every worker to receive a dignified salary, noting that the increase in the minimum wage from 9.000 to 23.000 denars in the past is an example of such policies: “I believe that every worker deserves a decent salary.”
