Failure to constitute the Assembly, Pacolli: The winning party is treating Kosovo like hyenas treat their victim

The leader of the New Kosovo Alliance (AKR), Behgjet Pacolli, has reacted after the failure to constitute the Kosovo Assembly, saying that this is a serious constitutional and institutional crisis.

Pacolli, through a post on the social network Facebook, wrote that this is a problem that requires immediate response and courageous decision-making.

"What game is the majority playing? It is unfortunate and shameful that the majority still does not understand that citizens have given it the trust to govern responsibly - not only to implement policies and reforms, but also to urgently resolve institutional problems when they arise. The failure to constitute the Assembly is a serious constitutional and institutional crisis, and its solution can no longer be delayed. This is a problem that requires immediate response and courageous decision-making - first and foremost from the majority", said Pacolli.

He further said that the majority cannot hide behind political alibis.

"She is the bearer of legitimacy and responsibility for the functioning of the institutions. The opposition, no matter how vocal it may be, has a secondary role in this process. If the candidate proposed for Speaker of the Assembly does not enjoy consensus or creates political clashes, then she should have withdrawn immediately to pave the way for a new and functional solution."

Pacolli further said that the candidate for parliamentary speaker has not reflected after all these consecutive rejections.

"When a person is rejected eighteen times for the same position, it is clear that he is not wanted – neither by the opposition, nor perhaps by a part of the majority itself. His decline at this point shows a lack of political and ethical awareness. This senseless persistence, more than ambition, is becoming an obstacle to the functioning of the state."

"On the contrary, the majority is turning this important process into an internal power play, where the candidate is being treated as the next "guxha" in a tired game of "guxha", as citizens ironically call it. This approach is a mockery of institutions and citizens who expect results, not a political spectacle," Pacolli wrote.

He also said: “I am afraid that citizens have not yet understood that the winning party of the elections is treating Kosovo like hyenas treat their victim. Kosovo is facing serious problems due to the lack of leadership, and for this we are suffering the consequences — consequences that, unfortunately, are expected to be even more severe.”
