The Downing Street spokesman conveyed the message of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who stressed the need to strengthen common security, writes sky news.
"We must use our great defense capabilities to strengthen our common security and bring benefits to our citizens," he stressed.
The spokesman added that the leaders confirmed "continued support for Ukraine, particularly in light of the recent horrific Russian attacks, as well as the commitment to work towards securing a just and lasting peace."
Although Prime Minister Starmer has recently more openly advocated for closer cooperation with the European Union, London and Brussels have yet to make significant progress in strengthening their defense partnership.
