The most-watched new film on Netflix is the romantic comedy "La Dolce Villa" and it seems to have reached the top of the list completely unnoticed, even though it garnered nearly 20 million views in its first week.
The film "La Dolce Villa" arrived on the platform with a bang on Thursday, February 13, but it still managed to attract the audience.
It reached the top of Netflix's most-watched chart in its first week of release, boasting 19.8 million views.
The new Netflix original film stars Scott Foley, known for his role in the series "Scandal", Maia Reficco (known for the series "Pretty Little Liars") and Violante Placido.
The project follows American businessman Eric (Foley) as he travels to Italy to stop his daughter Olivia (Reficco) from restoring a dilapidated villa as part of a country renovation plan. Italy, however, has different plans for him, fulfilling all his dreams of beauty, magic and romance, as promised in the synopsis.
On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a 73 percent critic rating and a 60 percent audience rating.
The New York Times described the film as "a brilliant tale of Americans having carefree adventures in Europe, getting into trouble and falling in love and charming all the locals." /Telegraph/
