Biden says he has 'much more to do' after Trump's inaugural address

Former President Joe Biden offered a brief reaction to President Donald Trump's inaugural address on Monday, in his first speech as a former president.

"We have a lot more to do. We heard the inaugural address today – you know, we have a lot more to do," he said, the Telegraph reports.

Biden told the crowd that he is "leaving office, but we are not leaving the fight," urging them to "stay engaged in all the ways we can."

Standing alongside former first lady Jill Biden, the former president expressed his gratitude for his team.

"No president can choose the moment they enter history. But they get to choose the team they enter with. And we chose the best team in the world," he said, charging them to look back on the past four years with "proudness."

Biden said it was "the honor of my life to serve as your president" and offered his perspective on how his one-term presidency will be viewed.

"Mark my words: the future will judge what you have done as one of the most important contributions ever made by all of America," he added.

The Bidens walked down the runway hand in hand and boarded a plane for a flight to Santa Ynez, California. /Telegraph
