Berisha on 'January 21': I respond to every call of justice

The leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha, said today that he will respond to any call from justice institutions regarding the investigations being conducted into the January 21, 2011 protest, where four protesters were killed on the boulevard.
Berisha said that he has not yet received a summons for January 21 and that this issue is "being used politically for propaganda."
"I can confirm what I said; I have responded all my life, to every call to the justice system and I will respond. I will respond, no comment. But there is only one condition: that I receive the call. I will go to every case that I am called to, for every problem from the justice system. I have the law, I have applied, implemented this all my life.
"And those who use this for propaganda, they show that they are miserable servants of a gang that robs Albanian citizens day and night. For about 13 years, this issue has been used for propaganda," Berisha said.
Berisha said that January 21 "is an issue investigated when I was and was not in power, but investigated by fierce enemies of the DP and my government, labeled by me in the clearest way possible for what it represents. Blocking the investigation, or if it was not investigated properly, if its main organizers were not investigated."
During his speech, Berisha also spoke about the incinerators, calling it "the biggest financial scandal in the history of the Albanian state."
He accused the government of protecting the Integrated Energy SPV company, despite the fact that official investigations have focused only on former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.
Berisha also leveled accusations at the Police Supervision Agency, which he said is "led by crime."
