PLE's Berisha "conditions" the vote for the new government

The chairman of the Egyptian Liberal Party (PLE), Veton Berisha, has stated that the entity he leads will not accept the treatment of the Egyptian community as a uniform bloc (of non-Serb minority communities) that follows the majority, emphasizing that the party's decisions will be based on independent positions.

The votes counted so far do not give either the opposition or the Vetëvendosje Movement the power to form a government on their own.

Speaking about the formation of the new government, Berisha stated that there are no red lines towards any candidate for prime minister and that the support of the PLE will depend on the commitment to implementing their program.

"I have no red lines with anyone, with specific names... Our program is public and each prime minister must pledge to be fully implementable. I will vote for the government that takes on the obligations, which we will have an offer on the table. And we will see how much I will manage to take on the obligations," Berisha said on Debat Plus.

Berisha has criticized Prime Minister Albin Kurti's intervention in the Egyptian community during the election campaign, calling the open support for Minister Elbert Krasniqi unacceptable.

"It has not been easy for him (Elbert Krasniqi). Because he came to the campaign in the position of minister, and at the same time what was unacceptable, that this practice should not be like this, is that Prime Minister Kurti came to the community and called for Elbert Krasniqi to be voted for. What is wrong with him is that it was a direct intervention in the will of the Egyptian community.

Minister Krasniqi received votes in settlements where there are no Egyptians, such as in Malisheva, Leposaviq, Zubin Potok...", added Berisha.
