The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, announced December 22 as the day when the DP will organize a national protest.

Berisha stated that the DP's agenda is the removal of the government, while emphasizing that whoever is not up to this mission can step aside.

"In this complex and difficult situation, I think that December 22 should be the date of the first general national protest. We must be clear that the main topic of our agenda will be protests. There is no other hope except protests. Protests have started at the Prime Minister's Office, but on December 22 we must call for a national protest. Those who come are blessed. Those who do not come will come later.

We will never become an obstacle, on the contrary we will be the instigators of protests until the last day, until the creation of a caretaker government for free elections. That is why we only have the path of protests. This is our path. Citizens must speak with their protest. How many are they? 1 thousand? We lead 2 thousand? We lead 300? We there. There is no other path. All other paths are firefighter paths. We will never become firefighter paths. This requires each of us, every leader, to be clear that every minute, every hour and every day, our agenda is to return the vote and remove this government with which there is no choice. This is our sacrifice and our mission. Whoever is up to this mission, gets involved. Whoever cannot respond to it, steps aside. Whoever does not feel like a missionary, withdraws. But this path is vital and decisive for the Albanian opposition. "We need to start the protests, trust them and organize them as soon as possible," Berisha said, euronews.al reports.
