Belarusian opposition leader takes Kosovo's example for freedom and prosperity

UThe leader of the Belarusian opposition, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, has taken Kosovo as an example of freedom and prosperity, praising its journey towards state-building.
In a post on Twitter, Tsikhanouskaya announced that she met the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
She emphasized that Kosovo's experience proves that courage, resilience, and international solidarity can lead to freedom and development, adding that the Belarusian opposition appreciates Kosovo's continued support for the people of Belarus.
Tsikhanouskaya is the leading figure of the Belarusian opposition and the symbolic leader of the resistance against the regime of President Alexander Lukashenko.
She rose to prominence during the 2020 presidential election, after her husband, Siarhei Tsikhanouski, was arrested and prevented from running.
According to international observers, the elections were rigged in favor of Lukashenko, and massive protests erupted across Belarus in the aftermath.
After the suppression of the protests, Tsikhanouskaya was forced to leave the country and has since been operating abroad, representing the Belarusian opposition in the international arena.
Belarus continues to not recognize Kosovo's independence.
