According to the newspaper TuttosportMilan are already looking for a centre-back for the 2026/27 season, and had a rejected bid from Juventus for Federico Gatti at the end of January.
The Rossoneri made a last-minute bid for the Juventus defender this Sunday, but the Bianconeri rejected the proposal, as they were on the verge of sending Daniele Rugani to Fiorentina.
According to Tuttosport, the failed attempt to transfer Gatti has not ended Milan's interest in him, as the defender is highly regarded by coach Massimiliano Allegri.
However, Milan have decided to look at other alternatives. It is no secret that Lazio's Mario Gila is one of the club's main targets for the summer.
Igli Tare, who is now at Milan, brought Gila to Lazio in 2022, buying him from Real Madrid for €5m plus a 50% clause from a future sale.
Gila's contract expires in June 2027, and he has already informed Lazio that he is not interested in a renewal.
Lazio are demanding €20m for Gila, but the defender will only have one year left on his contract when the summer arrives, and the excellent relationship between Tara and the player's agent could facilitate a move to San Siro for a lower fee.Telegrafi/
