Begaj receives senior NATO official, seeks support for Kosovo's membership in international organizations

The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, hosted today in a meeting the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.

During this meeting, President Begaj congratulated Admiral Dragone on his appointment and thanked him for his first visit to the region.

He expressed his appreciation for the role and mission of NATO, emphasizing the importance of the Alliance's presence in the region and especially of KFOR in Kosovo.

The Head of State emphasized that we must support Kosovo to be part of international organizations and increase cooperation within NATO and regional initiatives.

President Begaj stressed the need for the countries of the region to stand united to find common solutions for peace and security. He also noted support for Kosovo's integration into international organizations and strengthening its cooperation with NATO and regional initiatives.

"Let's be together, let's discuss together, let's find solutions together because only if we are unified and together, we will be stronger. Peace and security are two magic words not only for our region in the times we are living in. We must work hard to guarantee them," said Begaj.

Speaking about Albania's commitments, President Begaj emphasized the increase in the defense budget and the modernization of the Armed Forces, as well as Albania's increased representation in NATO missions and operations.

"Investment in infrastructure projects, such as Corridor VIII and the new Porto Romano port, which achieve strategic connectivity and increase military mobility, is very important," said Begaj.
