Albanian President Bajram Begaj has asked her Moldovan counterpart, Maia Sandu, to reconsider the recognition of the state of Kosovo.

Begaj made this request to her during his official visit to this country.

"Together, as partners and as friends, we work for a stronger and more secure Europe, and encourage the reconsideration of the recognition of Kosovo," Begaj wrote after the meeting he had with his counterpart in Moldova.

The Albanian head of state said that he had fruitful talks with the President of Moldova and that mutual trust, sustainable political dialogue and constructive cooperation, in service of common interests and citizens, are at the foundation of relations between the two countries.

"In today's challenging security environment, the enlargement of the European Union remains a key factor for stability and peace. We fully support Moldova's European path," Begaj wrote. /Telegrafi/
