Chinese football is in mourning after former defender Jiaxuan Guo passed away.
At the age of 18, Guo passed away after failing to survive injuries from an accident a few weeks earlier.
Jiaxuan Guo was part of Bayern Munich at the 2023 Club World Cup, as the Bavarians have a tradition of taking talented players to this competition.
The Bavarian club has released a statement expressing condolences to the family of the deceased.

"FC Bayern is mourning the passing of Guo Jiaxuan, the former world team player, who has died at the age of 18 in his native China. He suffered the consequences of a serious head injury following a tragic accident during a training match in Spain on February 6th. The club's thoughts are with his family and friends."
"The centre-back was part of FC Bayern's 2023 World Team, which gives talented players from around the world the opportunity to showcase their talent in professional football. Jiaxuan also represented China at youth level," Bayern said in a statement. /Telegraph/
