Barriers for tour operators between Albania and Kosovo are being removed, and prices of tourist packages are expected to decrease.

"Costs are reduced, which affects the increase in the number of tourists."
To encourage the growth of foreign visitors, the Albanian government has decided to remove bureaucratic and operational barriers for tourist agencies. The law ratifying the decision of the Joint Committee of the Central European Free Trade Agreement “On facilitating trade in services provided by travel agencies and tour operators” has been published in the Official Gazette.
It aims to create a new facilitating regime for Albanian tourism businesses that want to operate in Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Moldova, and vice versa. This law puts an end to double licenses.
"Now an agency operating in Albania can open branches in countries in the region. We also have less bureaucracy, less cost," said Fjorida Zani, a tour operator.
In addition to the convenience for travel agencies, this decision is expected to increase the number of tourists, thanks to lower service packages.
"We expect to have more tourists coming to visit the country, as we also have packages for the entire Balkans."
With the ratification of this agreement, tour operators and guides in the countries of the region can now work temporarily in neighboring countries without having to open an office in another country. The tour operator only needs to be provided with an electronic notification containing the subject's data, facilitating the mobility of tour guides and their growth./Tv Klan
