Barcelona ready to part ways with Spanish star if the right offer comes

Since he left the club after his loan deal ended last season, Girona had made it publically clear that they would like Eric Garcia back.

He is one of the players that Barcelona is willing to part ways with during the January transfer window.

Although coach Hansi Flick is keen to keep the Spaniard in the team unless there is a transfer, the club will allow him to leave if they receive a suitable offer.

Mundo Deportivo have reported that Girona are willing to pay €10m for Garcia, but Barcelona do not believe that is enough.

Talks are likely to continue until the final days of the transfer window, with both clubs looking to put pressure on each other..

It was reported earlier in January that Barcelona and Girona had reached an agreement for Garcia, but that his departure depended on the future of Ronald Araujo.

With the Uruguayan looking set to remain with the Blaugrana, this would allow Barcelona to offload a player who will be out of contract in 18 months.

If we take all of this into account, Flick could argue that unless the amount of money is sufficient to bring in reinforcements, Barcelona will gain more from a sale now than in the summer./Telegraph/
