Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski will stay at the club next season, no matter what. The Polish striker, now in his third season in Catalonia, has found a second contract under Hansi Flick and currently leads La Liga in the race for the Pichichi, with a three-goal advantage over Kylian Mbappe so far.
Overall, Lewandowski has 31 goals and three assists in 33 appearances this season, and has been lethal in front of goal on several occasions. However, there is no stopping talk that Barcelona are looking for his replacement.
The veteran 'killer' will be 37 when La Liga starts next season, and in recent months, Flick has seen fit to rest him and make him part of the rotation more often.
Lewandowski was always likely to earn an extension through a clause in his contract, which would automatically extend his deal until 2026 if he participated in half of the team's matches this season for a minimum of 45 minutes.

He is likely to reach this figure this month already, but the newspaper Sports world say that Barcelona has agreed to an extension with Lewandowski ahead of schedule.
They say sporting director Deco, president Joan Laporta and manager Hansi Flick all agreed an extension for Lewandowski, who leads the Champions League scoring charts with Serhou Guirassy with nine goals each.
Lewandowski rejected interest from Saudi Arabia this summer and has often spoken of his desire to stay at Barcelona and at the highest level of football for as long as possible.
This has led to talk of Barcelona's search for his eventual replacement cooling down. Just this week, Barcelona have been linked with Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, while Sporting Lisbon's Viktoria Kolasinac is being cited as a potentially cheaper option with around €65m available for his services.
Sooner or later, Barcelona will have to make a move, but dividing playing time between the two star number nines will not be easy. /Telegraph/
