The Board of Barcelona is considering the possibility of transferring City's Dutch defender Nathan Ake.

The Dutchman could leave the Etihad Stadium for a reasonable fee in the summer.

Determined to improve their defence, Barcelona have set their sights on Ake. According to 3Cat, the defender is one of the most admired players by the club's current sporting director, Portuguese Deco.

In addition to his physical and technical qualities and extensive experience, Ake fits the required profile due to his reasonable cost.

With his contract expiring in 2027 and a relatively minor role at City (starting four times in the Premier League this season), he could leave for an affordable price.

At 31 years old, Ake is considered a good market opportunity and an alternative to the two defenders who currently remain Barcelona's preferred options: Dutchman Micky van de Ven (Tottenham) and Italian Alessandro Bastoni (Inter Milan).

However, both represent an expense that is currently unaffordable for the club's coffers.

A product of Feyenoord's youth academy, Ake previously played for Chelsea, Reading, Watford and Bournemouth before joining City, where he has amassed 169 official appearances (10 goals and 3 assists). /Telegraph/
