Barcelona have set their priorities for the summer transfer window, with the number 9 striker being the main target. The idea is to bring in a top-class player in this position, which will have consequences for the club's current options in this department.

Many have assumed that Robert Lewandowski will leave the club at the end of the season, when his contract expires, however there have been suggestions that he could return as a rotation alternative rather than as competition for the starting spot.

However, Sports reports that Barcelona are debating within the club whether it should actually be Ferran Torres who should open the door to his departure.

Torres is Barcelona's top scorer this season and starts most games ahead of Lewandowski, although the Polish veteran has been a starter in some of the most important matches of the season.

This year he has scored 16 goals and provided one assist in 31 appearances, but his contract expires in 2027.

It had been said that Barcelona planned to offer him a new contract, but there have been no further developments in this regard since October.

For his part, the 25-year-old Spanish national team striker is interested in staying at the club.

If Torres leaves, it seems likely that Lewandowski will remain as a backup option. If Lewandowski were to leave, Barcelona would save around 30 million euros in gross wages next season.

Any possible deal would be accompanied by a significant salary reduction, but in terms of the salary cap, only a reduction of €3 million would apply, even if his current salary were lower than that.Telegrafi/
