Barcelona contact top Nigerian striker's agent ahead of summer move

Since the beginning of the second half of last season, it became clear that Barcelona sporting director Deco has been eyeing the market for a left-back.

With Raphinha's performances easing that need, in the long term it appears to be a position that Barcelona will be interested in strengthening.

Barcelona have been strongly linked with Luis Diaz and Nico Williams for some time now, but all of this remained just rumors, as salary cap issues prevented them from making any moves.

There is still a chance they will be able to spend this summer, depending on how things go with the sale of VIP seats for €100m.

According to Caught OffsideBarcelona have been in contact with the agent of Atalanta star Ademola Lookman.

After a falling out with coach Gian Piero Gasperini, Lookman appears to have decided to leave Italy this summer, but the €60-65 million price tag has distanced them from the 27-year-old.

Diario AS also adds that Atletico Madrid are looking to add a left-footed player, but 'Los Rojiblancos' also backed out after learning his price.

The Nigerian international has no shortage of offers. Caught Offside goes on to say that Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are all interested in Lookman, as are Juventus in Italy.

This season, despite disagreements with Gasperini, Lookman has scored 18 goals and has seven assists in 37 matches this season.Telegraph/
