Balotelli returns to Serie A as he knows it - he is punished only minutes after entering the field
Mario Balotelli appeared in a Serie A game for the first time in more than three years and was booked less than five minutes after coming on in Genoa's 1-0 win over Parma on Monday night.
The former Italy international joined Genoa as a free agent last Monday after leaving Turkish Super League side Adana Demirspor following the expiry of his contract in June.
He was not included in the matchday squad for the 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina on Thursday, but was named among the players against Parma on Monday evening.
Balotelli entered the field after 85 minutes of play, replacing Jeff Ekhator.
It took less than five minutes for Balotelli to get on the books, picking up a 90th-minute booking.
Technically, Balotelli has picked up a yellow card and a red in his last six minutes of football, as his time with Adana Demirspor ended with a red card in his final appearance of the 2023/24 season.
Genoa will be in action on Thursday evening, when they will host Como at "Luigi Ferraris". /Telegraph/
