'Balkan Barometer', Kapetanović: Kosovo citizens continue to be among the most pro-European in the region

The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) today presented the 25th edition of the 'Balkan Barometer', regional survey of public opinion that the organization has been developing for 11 years.
Secretary General Amer Kapetanovic said that this year's results bring "very encouraging trends", especially the restoration of trust in the European Union.
In response to a question asked by Telegrafi journalist Jehona Hulaj, the Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), Amer Kapetanović, said that the citizens of Kosovo continue to be among the most pro-European in the region and completely oriented towards regional cooperation.
“When we talk about Kosovo, I think it is mainly pro-European, by a very high margin,” Kapetanovic declared.
He emphasized that perceptions regarding security and trust in institutions in Kosovo are also "slightly higher compared to the rest of the region," describing the situation as generally positive.
During the presentation of the 25th edition of the Balkan Barometer, Kapetanović underlined the restoration of trust in the European Union at the regional level.
"Last year it was 54%, now it is 64%, the highest level in the last 10 years," he said, adding that this positive trend is not equal in all countries, but remains clear in the region.
He also emphasized the role of young people, describing their orientation towards Europe and cooperation as very strong.
"77% of them are clearly pro-European and want to see concrete benefits from regional cooperation"
Kapetanovic warned that despite these developments, trust is "a very fragile thing" and must be maintained through tangible results that improve citizens' lives, freedom of movement and working conditions. /Telegraph/
