Bajqinovci: The Assembly will be constituted within 10 days

Vetëvendosje Movement MP Mefail Bajqinovci expressed his confidence that within ten days there will be an unblocking of the situation created in the Kosovo Assembly.

According to Bajqinovci, the proposal of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albulena Haxhiu, will soon be voted in for Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly.

He added that the modalities of agreements for the governing coalition with the Initiative are currently being discussed.

"We have discussions with Nisma and the minority parties and I believe that the next step, I always say after the constitution of the Assembly, I strongly believe that it will not go far and we will have the Speaker of the Assembly voted in, in this case Albulena Haxhiu. So, I am convinced, it will not take even ten days and we will have an unblocking. I believe that the modalities of the agreements for the governing coalition are being discussed. I do not believe that we will have a long blockade", said Bajqinovci in Tëvë1.

Otherwise, the Kosovo Assembly has failed to be constituted for the eighth time in a row, as the Vetevendosje Movement failed to secure the simple majority necessary to elect the Speaker of the Assembly.

Vetëvendosje MP Albulena Haxhiu failed to secure the position of Speaker of Parliament for the sixth time. This time, she received 54 votes in favor, 44 against, and 3 abstentions.

In previous sessions, 57 deputies had voted for it, but this time several LVV deputies were absent.
