Audi challenges the competition – announces more expensive and more beautiful cars

The year 2024 was not so good for Audi.

Deliveries fell 11.8% to 1,671,218 vehicles, allowing Tesla to overtake the German brand.

BMW and Mercedes also finished well ahead in the luxury sales race.

So now Audi aims to move into the market and charge more money, even if this potentially means selling fewer cars, Telegrad reports.

In an interview with Auto Express, the UK automaker's new boss, Jose Miguel Aparicio, revealed the bold plan: "Get ready for a significant price increase to reflect Audi's new higher positioning in the already complicated VW Group hierarchy."

Among other things, Audi has already announced plans to discontinue production of its cheapest car and SUV.

Neither the A1 Sportback nor the Q2 will survive the next generation, effectively making the A3 the company's entry-level model.

On the other side of the line, the new market could start with a more beautiful successor to the A8, as the Grandsphere concept suggests.

Furthermore, the Urbansphere concept hinted at a high-end SUV positioned above the Q7 and Q8.

However, the A8 is said to be sticking around longer than originally planned. /Telegraph/
