Atalanta captain receives one of the craziest red cards in Champions League history

Atalanta captain Rafael Toloi received a red card in the 87th minute of the match against Club Brugge in the Champions League play-offs and many consider it one of the craziest in the history of this competition.

After Maxim De Cuyper tried to distract Toloi during a throw-in, Toloi lost his temper, attempted to hit him with the ball, missed the opportunity, and then attacked him and knocked him to the ground.

Referee Felix Zwayer immediately showed him a red card and the scene went viral and is truly one of the craziest ever seen in the Champions League.

Toloi, as the captain and most experienced player on the team, should have kept his cool, but instead he completely "lost" his head.

Otherwise, Atalanta was defeated at home by Club Brugge with a score of 3-1 and with an aggregate score of 5-2 in the two play-off matches, being eliminated from the Champions League. /Telegraph/
