Arsenal in advanced talks to 'snatch' Man City's top player from their hands

Arsenal are in advanced talks to 'snatch' Manchester City's fourth January signing, according to David Ornstein.

City have already completed deals for the transfer of Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov for a combined fee of €100m.

The reigning Premier League champions must beat Club Brugge to reach the Champions League play-off stage and this has forced the club to make transfers.

But their fourth transfer this month could fall through as the plan is not going as they had hoped.

According to Fabrizio Romano, 18-year-old Norwegian Sverre Halseth Nypan has travelled to Manchester to discuss with the club about his potential transfer this month.

However, Ornstein has now reported that Arsenal have opened discussions with Nypan's current club, Rosenborg.

He claimed that talks for the midfielder's transfer have advanced, but an agreement has not yet been reached.

Man City's proposal to the player reportedly includes loaning him to Girona for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, Ornstein has added that Arsenal want to sign Nypan to play with their first team immediately./Telegraph/
