Kosovo Police have arrested Arianit Sllamniku, and he has been detained for 48 hours.

The news was confirmed to the Telegraph by the Chief Prosecutor of Gjilan, Arben Kadriu.

Sllamnik is suspected of the criminal offenses "Illegal practice of medical or pharmaceutical activity" under Article 256 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo and "Illegal medical experiments and drug testing" under Article 257 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo.

Sllamnik, who is not a doctor, claims to have a medicine to "cure" autism in children.

Following reports of fraud, state mechanisms have been put into motion.

However, the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan announced to the Telegraph during the day that the police have been authorized to undertake investigative actions regarding the case.

"Referring to your request for information, we inform you that the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code of Kosovo, has authorized the Police to undertake investigative actions regarding the case. The Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan will keep you informed regarding other actions," the Prosecution announced.

Regarding the reports about Sllamnik's claims, the Ministry of Health also reacted yesterday, expressing its concern and calling on citizens to trust only scientifically verified methods, offered by institutions and licensed health professionals.

The Ministry has announced that it has informed the competent institutions and is in coordination with the Kosovo Police to handle the case.

There was also a reaction from KOMF, which called on law enforcement and justice authorities to urgently take actions and measures according to the legislation in force to stop and punish such actions that are dangerous to children's health and are also illegal. /Telegraph/
