Arne Slot sends a message to Van Dijk as the Dutchman is close to a move to the European giants

Virgil Van Dijk has chosen to embark on a new adventure amid his contract situation at Liverpool, according to recent reports. 

Van Dijk will be out of contract at the end of the season and will be a free agent as things stand. 

He has yet to sign a new deal with Liverpool, while Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah are in the same situation. 

According to a report from the Spanish media Transfers, Van Dijk has made the decision not to renew with Liverpool, deciding to embark on a new adventure where Bayern Munich is being seen as a possible destination for him.

According to the report, he has received a very attractive offer from Bayern, who are among the clubs that are closely monitoring Van Dijk's situation. 

The German giants have offered him a lucrative contract and sources close to the player assure that the 33-year-old is very close to accepting their proposal. 

Van Dijk's departure from Anfield would be a huge blow for Liverpool and Arne Slott, with the latter reiterating that he would like to have the Dutchman in the team next season. 

"The only thing I know is that I want Virgil to be here next season. All the rest, these contract rumors, that's not what I'm going to discuss here," Slot said.
