Arne Slot's first request to Liverpool is the transfer of Newcastle's top star

Anthony Gordon has emerged as one of the stars of the season for Newcastle United, but the player is already being linked with a move to Liverpool.

The 23-year-old is enjoying his best season this year, having scored 11 goals in 47 games played for 'Laraskat'.

Gordon moved to St James' Park in January last year, moving from his boyhood club Everton where he made the transition to the first team after initially coming through the youth ranks.

Gordon also made his England debut this season, and could be a candidate to be invited by Gareth Southgate to Euro 2024 in Germany.

His contract with Newcastle expires in the summer of 2026, but according to a new report from Daily Star, Liverpool's interest could force Newcastle to sell Gordon to balance the financial situation.

However, it appears that Gordon is a personal request from Arne Slott who is expected to replace Jurgen Klopp on the bench.

Slott wants Gordon to be among his first signings this summer as he looks to revamp Liverpool's squad.
