Armed to the teeth – RS Police special forces are guarding Dodik in Sarajevo

An atmosphere of siege and complete chaos has engulfed Eastern Sarajevo tonight.

Special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska, armed to the teeth, along with Milorad Dodik's personal bodyguards, are guarding the president of this entity, after members of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) attempted to arrest him.

According to the report of klix.ba from the scene, SIPA members had earlier arrived at the Administrative Center of the RS Government, where Dodik is located, to arrest him based on an arrest warrant issued by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which had previously issued a central arrest warrant against him.

However, SIPA's plan was thwarted by members of the entity's police, who came to the defense of a person against whom a court arrest warrant existed.

Such a development of events raises serious questions about the rule of law and the extent of direct political control over the entity's police.

Instead of acting in accordance with the laws of the state, members of the RS institutions are once again showing loyalty to an individual rather than to the legal order.

We recall that, in addition to Dodik, arrest warrants have also been issued for the Prime Minister of the RS, Radovan Viskovic, as well as for the President of the People's Assembly of the RS, Nenad Stevandic, which testifies to the depth of the legal and political crisis in this entity.

Dodik, earlier in the day, stayed in Šeković, where he participated in the launching ceremony of the project for the gasification of the eastern part of RS, and then arrived at the Administrative Center in East Sarajevo for a meeting with local leaders.

That's where SIPA found him, but it seems that the entity's police have enabled him to remain untouchable - at least for the time being. /Telegraph/
