Another case of arms trafficking from Kosovo is cracked - 27-year-old arrested in Tirana

Tirana Police have cracked down on another case of firearms trafficking from Kosovo to Albania, as part of successive operations to prevent and crack down on this criminal activity.
After several weeks of investigations using proactive methods, the Tirana Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Operational Force and under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, has finalized the police operation codenamed "Barriera".
During the operation, citizen DB, 27 years old, resident of Kosovo, was arrested in flagrante delicto, who is suspected of trafficking firearms with the intention of selling them in the capital.
Police services have located and stopped the "Volkswagen" vehicle at the exit of the Grand Ring Road, near the Tufina overpass.
During the search of the vehicle, specifically under the hood, 10 Glock pistols were found and seized, along with combat ammunition.
Following the criminal proceedings, two more Glock pistols were seized, bringing the total number of weapons seized to 12 pistols.
Preliminary investigations suspect that the 27-year-old intended to sell the weapons in the Fresku area of Tirana.
The investigative structures of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Prosecution, continue in-depth investigations to identify and arrest other persons involved in this criminal activity.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further legal action. /Telegrafi/
