Angelina Jolie reveals how she quit smoking: I smoked two packs a day

Angelina Jolie has revealed that she used to smoke two packs of cigarettes a day, but her role as Lara Croft in "Tomb Raider" forced her to change her lifestyle.
During a talk at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the 49-year-old actress revealed that to prepare for the 2001 film, she underwent a strict training regimen.
"I had to completely change my health and my life," she said, adding that over time, she no longer wanted anything other than good food, water and sleep, she writes. Dailymail.
After filming wrapped, Jolie quit smoking. "I haven't done it again... well, maybe once or twice," she admitted.
During the festival, the star was honored with the Maltin Modern Master Award and moved the audience as she spoke about her late mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who always supported her in her career.
"She gave up on her own creative dreams, but she helped me pursue mine," Jolie said, recalling her mother writing letters to her film characters.
In closing, she mentioned her last role as Maria Callas and tried to imagine what her mother would have written for this character.
"Mary had many things, but she never had the love of a mother," Jolie said, acknowledging that empathy and memories of her mother are part of her essence as an artist. /Telegraph/
