Ancelotti rejected the Brazilian because of an offer of 50 million euros per season?
Carlo Ancelotti was on the verge of taking over the management of the Brazilian national team, but the deal fell through at the last moment.
The Italian coach was due to sign a contract with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) in London, but everything was suddenly cancelled on Tuesday evening.
According to a report from Relevo, Ancelotti has informed the CBF that Real Madrid will not allow him to leave in June, before the start of the Club World Cup, unless he waives the remaining salary from his contract, which is valid until 2026.
The CBF was ready for Ancelotti to take charge of the national team on June 6 against Ecuador, but they are now considering other options, such as Jorge Jesus.
At the same time, Ancelotti was offered a generous contract by Saudi side Al-Hilal, worth 50 million euros per season.
Real Madrid had planned for Santiago Solari to lead the team at the Club World Cup, with Xabi Alonso set to take over as coach in July.
However, Ancelotti's delays and focus on personal negotiations have caused discontent within the club. This situation calls into question Ancelotti's future at Real Madrid and his possible departure to Saudi Arabia looks increasingly likely. /Telegraph/
